Inspiring the Next Generation of Watershed Stewards

This year, our annual gala celebrates The Bay Institute’s and Aquarium of the Bay’s education and inspiration of the next generation of environmental stewards for San Francisco Bay and its watershed.  The master of ceremonies for the evening will be Doug McConnell, and special tributes will be paid to this year’s award winners:
 
The Carla Bard Bay Education Award to honor those who have significantly increased the public’s understanding of and concern for the San Francisco Bay-Delta Estuary will be presented to Jared Blumenfeld, administrator for the Environmental Protection Agency, Region 9, in recognition of his many accomplishments as director of the Environment Department of the city of San Francisco.

The Harold Gilliam Award for Excellence in Environmental Reporting...From the Sierra to the Sea to recognize knowledgeable and skilled reporting on complex environmental issues affecting the Bay-Delta Estuary and its tributary waterways will be presented to Ron Blatman, producer of the documentary, Saving the Bay.
