Visitor Information
364 days a year, Aquarium of the Bay invites San Francisco Bay Area residents and visitors from around the world to get up close and personal with more than 20,000 marine animals from the San Francisco Bay and nearby waters.
During your visit, you'll be surrounded by sharks circling overhead, schools of fish darting past and bat rays gliding by as you walk through 300 ft. of crystal clear tunnels filled with water that is drawn and filtered directly from the San Francisco Bay, which is right outside our door. Visitors can explore the lair of the Giant Pacific Octopus, relax in the mesmerizing world of Moon Jellies and Sea Nettles, and find out how to help protect the world's animals from climate change in PG&E Bay Lab.
Each day is filled with a wide range of special events -- from shark feedings to hands-on animal encounters to conversations with our divers while they are under water. And it's all free with your Aquarium admission. Special ticketed events, such as Behind the Scenes tours, round out our activities calendar. And our interpretative naturalists are always nearby to answer your questions.
