Aquarium of the Bay

Providing The Bay Institute with a window to the largest estuary on the West Coast, Aquarium of the Bay's mission is to create experiences that inspire conservation of the Bay and its watershed.

Aquarium of the Bay inspires stewardship by introducing visitors to the amazing aquatic animals that live in the Bay and nearby waters.
Exhibits and hands-on animal interaction bring visitors up close and personal with the 20,000 local marine animals that live at the Aquarium.
Aquarium of the Bay provides 15,000 Bay Area public school children with free curriculum-based classes and tours each year.
Certified as a Green Business by the City of San Francisco, the Aquarium collaborates with 40 environmental partners on a wide range of programs.
The Aquarium's major research projects include monitoring Sevengill Shark's movements to determine how they use the Bay.
